QuickDraw GX Objects
With QuickDraw GX you create and draw objects. Fundamental graphic shapes, such as rectangles and curves, are objects. Lines of text are objects. Other pieces of information, such as the color of a shape or the font used to draw a letter, are also kept in objects. Fonts are objects. Even the information that is used to describe the printing characteristics of a document is kept in objects.Figure 1-1 names some of the common QuickDraw GX objects and shows their relationships, in terms of which objects use the information in which other objects. This chapter, this book, and much of the rest of the Inside Macintosh QuickDraw GX suite describe what these and other QuickDraw GX objects are and how to use them.
